This project was opened in June of 1997. It is currently known as Westminster House consists of 6 enhanced Single Room Occupancy (SRO) units in the neighborhood of Hyde Park, Boston. The building was renovated in 1996 to create an attractive, enhanced SRO living environment specially designed for the needs of high functioning clients of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. Each unit includes a private bath. The first floor includes a kitchen, sitting and dining areas and a deck overlooking the back yard. The first floor also has an office for the service provider. Staff is available seven days a week for ten hours a day. Each resident pays 30% of their income for rent and the Boston Housing Authority provides subsidies for each unit.
