Meet Our Team

Alice O. McCarter, LICSW
Ms. McCarter holds a M.S.W. from Boston College School of Social Work; is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Housing Manager. Ms. McCarter is the Vice President of New Communities Services, Inc.

Ms. McCarter is a member of the Rotary Club of Cambridge, MA and served as President from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. Ms. McCarter is a former member and President of Paine Senior Services and was the 2015 recipient of the Jeannie Warren Paine Community Service award. 

Ms. McCarter served on the Cambridge Council on Aging for two terms and was President in 2001-2002 In 1997 she served on the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Ethics Advisory Group and participated in the American Academy of Physicians’ Ethics in Managed Care Project in 2001.

Ashley Thibault, CDP
Ms. Thibault is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She has been with Windsor House since 2010. Ashley started as an intern at Cambridge Windsor House, while pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Art Therapy from Lesley College. Upon graduation she was immediately hired to help with the therapeutic activity program. With her love of the job she quickly became a permanent fixture of the team. Throughout her four years with Windsor House, Ashley has risen from  Activity Director to Program Director at Cambridge Windsor House and in 2014 she transfered to Sancta Maria's Windsor House where she took on the dual role of Program Director / Assistant Executive Director. She is currently the Executive Director of Windsor House Adult Day Health programs. Ashley currently serves as co-chair for the Metro-East Alzhiemers partnership.

Liz Olson, LICSW
Ms. Olson holds a MSW from Boston University School of Social Work, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, a Certified Housing Manager and Tax Credit Specialist.  Liz has worked for NCS for over 15 years, formerly as the Social Service Coordinator for Norfolk St., and now as the Property Manager for St. Paul's Residence, the Program Director at Norfolk Street, and the Grants Manager for the company.

Lidia Pereira
After a hiatus of two years from New Communities Services Housing division, Ms. Pereira was appointed the Manager for New Communities Services at 116 Norfolk Street, Cambridge, MA on January 2, 2017.  116 Norfolk Street is a part of the Congregate Housing program of the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and opened in 1975. Ms. Pereira, attended Mt. Ida College and is a certified Housing Manager and Tax Credit specialist.  Further, Ms. Pereira is bi-lingual in Cape Verdean Creole and Spanish. In addition to her responsibilities at 116 Norfolk Street, Ms. Pereira provides support to the New Communities Services housing portfolio, which includes social services at Ellen S. Jackson Apartments located on Blue Hill Avenue in Roxbury, MA and management services for the Independent Living Project located on Hyde Park Avenue in Hyde Park, Boston. Ms. Pereira joined the New Communities Services housing management team in 2004 as manager of affordable housing properties that then included: Uphams Corner Market Residential, Columbia West Apartments both located in Dorchester, MA, and the Independent Living Project located in Hyde Park, MA. Each of these affordable housing sites include a program for individuals with special needs and services to ensure continued tenancy and independence. Ms. Pereira has 13 years of affordable housing management experience that includes community building, computer assisted management systems, lease enforcement and a “can do” approach to a range challenges that can occur in housing management.

Denise Thorud, C.D.P.

Denise Thorud, CDP
Denise is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She holds a degree in Human Services. She has certifications in Gerontology studies and Understanding Dementia care and is a Habilitation Curriculum trainer. She also is a board member on the Marshall Home Fund and a member of the MetroEast Alzhiemer Partnership. After serving in numerous Windsor House ADH positions. Denise now serves as Marketing & Outreach Coordinator for the Adult Day Health Program division of New Communities Services, Inc.

Tawnya Clemons, LSW

Tawnya Clemons, LSW
Ms. Clemons holds a B.S. in Human Services from Lyndon State College. She is a Licensed Social Worker. Ms. Clemons supports the Windsor House Adult Day Health Program, Housing Services and fiscal operations of the Corporation.
