Important Changes at New Communities Services
As many of you know, Alice McCarter, long-time Executive Director, retired in December to spend her time in North Carolina. We thank her for her many years of dedication and commitment to NCS.
I want to update you on some important changes in executive leadership since Alice’s retirement. The NCS Board of Directors decided that this period of transition provided a wonderful opportunity to revisit our strategic direction, implement needed capacity building and prepare for the organization’s future. As such, we hired Gloria Franqui as Interim Executive Director.
Gloria has held senior management and leadership positions in several human service and health organizations, including serving as interim executive director and chief executive officer.
Her major responsibility at NCS is to ensure that the organization remains stable and continues to move in the right direction during this period of transition. This includes working closely with the board and staff to address important systems and capacity issues and lay the groundwork for the future of the organization.
I want to take a moment to recognize our staff who have been working tirelessly during this period of transition, ensuring that NCS continues to provide outstanding community adult day health and affordable housing services to adults 55 and older.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you for support and interest.
